Comcast Cares Day in Tucson – Register to Volunteer!
If you’re looking for an opportunity to get involved and give back to your community, consider participating in Comcast Cares Day.
Comcast Cares Day is the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort where Comcast employees, community partners, non-profits, families and friends all join together to make a positive impact in the communities where we work and live! In 2016, nearly 1,000 volunteers made change happen by participating in two different projects in Tucson.
This year, Comcast Cares Day will take place on Saturday, April 22, and we’ve partnered with the Tucson Urban League and I am You 360 to host a family-friendly, fun-filled event at Crossroads Park in Marana.
The day will begin with sign-in and breakfast at 7:00 AM and conclude with lunch by 1:00 PM. Volunteers will participate in a 5K run/walk to support I am You 360 – A non-profit supporting Foster Children in Southern Arizona.
Not a runner? Don’t worry, there is plenty to do!
You can help by sorting donated personal hygiene items and clothing, stuffing Empowerment bags, which will be given to A. AZ children living in Foster Care. Or you can use your craft skills by helping to create Empowerment Cards with art and craft supplies – the cards will be given to S. AZ children living in foster care.
Additionally, as part of Comcast Cares Day, Comcast will host a Community Fair at Crossroads Park, which will include:
- Face painting
- Representation from Marana Fire Dept, Army National Guard and Marana police – children will get to see fire trucks, police cars, etc.
- Red Cross information booth
- YMCA kid-friendly activities
- Make Way for Books – youth reading booth
- Big Brother Big Sisters – kid friendly activities
- Comcast – youth STEM activity
- Kids Bounce house
- More to be announced…
