Comcast Awards the Best and Brightest High School Seniors in Southern Arizona

Rows of framed Leaders and Achievers Scholarship awards.

In celebration of the leadership potential and academic success of outstanding students in our communities, Comcast recently awarded four students across southern Arizona with $10,000 in scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year as part of the Comcast NBCUniversal Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program.

The Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors in southern Arizona and across the country for outstanding character, integrity, academic achievement and a commitment to community service.

Each student receives a one-time, $2,500 scholarship to be used toward undergraduate education-related expenses. Since 2001, the program has awarded more than $33 million to nearly 30,000 high school seniors across the country.

These Leaders and Achievers scholarship receipts have already shown exemplary achievements in academics and community engagement, said Chris Dunkenson, Comcast Area Vice President in New Mexico and Arizona. We are very proud to support them in their continued educational pursuits with these scholarships.

“The advice I would give to the younger students is to always work towards your goal. If you want to go to your dream college, find the resources and the information you need to prepare yourself for it. Always remember, no dream is too big or too little, and follow your heart,” said scholarship recipient Elodia Baltazar of Pueblo High School.

Over the next few weeks, we will highlight these outstanding southern Arizona students on our social media channels. Follow us at @ComcastTucson on Twitter and @Comcast on Facebook to hear their remarkable stories.
